And the damage that those chemical fertilizers and pesticides do to the earth is quite devastating. But we've always had a big environmental mission as well. We know that organic produce is safer for all people, especially babies. “We have a variety of reasons for wanting organic produce. “The products went live on our website, and we went into labor.” “It was complete synchronicity-could never have been planned,” Joe says. In a twist of fate, Serenity Kids launched its products online on August 5, 2018, the very same day Joe and Serenity’s daughter Della was born. And then I think the taste and nutrition is better ultimately.” “I mean obviously the health of our products for babies is key. “We have a variety of reasons for wanting organic produce,” Joe says. “For us, organic produce was just a no-brainer,” says Joe, who notes that they chose to forgo organic certification for some of their meats due to the difficulty of certifying pasture-focused operations (though they do make their meat farmers sign an affidavit that says they use organic methods). We want all babies to grow up happy, healthy and strong like Della. From the get-go, the pair decided to use only certified organic produce. We believe this is largely because of how we feed her. Our baby Della sleeps through the night, rarely cries, hardly ever gets sick, will eat anything, and has healthy consistent stools. So we set forth on a mission to create a different kind of baby food and transform the baby food industry. All I found were sweet-tasting products containing sugary fruits that lacked the well-sourced meats, healthy fats and savory vegetables that babies need to thrive. When Joe and I started family planning, I searched high and low for nutrient-dense baby foods. Now, he’s dedicated to changing the way we feed and treat children. Changing his diet helped him transform his health and integrate his autism. In addition to social and emotional difficulties, he suffered from constant stomach pain and was overweight. Joe is autistic, and he wasn't diagnosed as a child. My struggles have made me passionate about changing the way families eat so they can live happier lives. These issues did not go away until adulthood when I cut out processed foods and sugar and started eating mostly quality meats, vegetables, and healthy fats. I cried a ton from colic, was constantly sick, had trouble sleeping, and eventually developed severe digestive problems. Like most kids, I was fed tons of sugar, grains, and dairy. My husband, Joe, and I started Serenity Kids for our baby Della. Are your pouches BPA free and recyclable? If you’d like to recycle your pouches, you’re in luck! Our partnership with TerraCycle allows you to request a free envelope to mail back your empty pouches to be recycled. We are always listening to our customers so if you have a hot tip on new packaging, please let us know by emailing us. However, we are exploring other packaging options that we may adopt in the future depending on consumer demand. Why? Because for every one truckload of pouches, glass jars will fill up 26 truckloads of the same number of units! Given the resources required to produce, transport, and dispose of glass, mixed with the overwhelming consumer demand for squeeze pouches, we decided to launch our company with pouched products. While exploring glass packaging options, we were shocked to find out that convenient pouches like ours actually have a smaller carbon footprint than jars. After all, we want to protect the future of our planet for the babies we are raising right now! We recognize that plastic poses a variety of environmental problems. We asked this same question because we value protecting the environment in a very big way here at Serenity Kids.
